About the role:
We are seeking an Employability Trainer to deliver an employability and skills programme that empowers participants to overcome barriers, build confidence, and progress toward sustainable employment or further education. This role is pivotal in creating a positive learning environment while actively connecting learners with real opportunities in the local labour market.
You will combine training delivery, personal coaching, and learner engagement to ensure those most suitable gain practical skills and sector insights. A strong understanding of Labour Market Information (LMI) for the Doncaster area is essential, enabling you to guide learners toward realistic and rewarding career paths. You will also act as a broker between participants and employers, promoting inclusive recruitment practices and developing partnerships that lead to tangible job outcomes.
This is a hands-on role requiring creativity, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping people succeed. You will work collaboratively with local stakeholders, employers, and support services to ensure the programme delivers measurable impact.
All our contracts are commissioner led, meaning we must adhere to strict quality and compliance regimes. You will therefore have a keen eye for detail with excellent administrative skills and experience of creating high quality learning materials. Evaluation of your courses will be essential in ensuring these are adding value to our participant group and supporting them to move forward towards their personal goal(s). You will also have a continuous improvement mindset, striving for excellence and taking pride in the work, you and your fellow colleagues deliver. Sharing ideas and best practice will come naturally to you as will taking on additional or different tasks to get the job done to the highest of standards.

Required criteria:
• Proven experience in delivering training, coaching or developing others
• Training qualification such as PTTLS, Education & Training or CAVA
• Performance driven with the ability to work to various targets including performance and quality measures
• Experience as a trainer / facilitator
• Experience of being accountable for own work e.g. delivery of required courses in a professional and timely fashion
• Excellent communicator both verbal and written
• Personal skills include creativity, being inspirational/able to create a personal impact, being able to command attention/control a situation/committed/highly motivated
• Be able to demonstrate a true passion for improving the lives of others
• A value's driven individual
• Passionate about transforming people's lives through teaching and learning
Desirable criteria:
• Training and development experience for 1 years or more
• Delivery of the training cycle (Training Needs Analysis - Training Design - Training Delivery - Training Evaluation)
• Experience of teaching qualifications across various sectors
• Keen interest in self-development
• Coming from a similar recent role
• Exposure of individuals with multiple or complex barriers, which may include incapacity benefit claimants, single parents, those with criminal records, mental health groups, those with specific disabilities
• Knowledge of welfare / benefits system
• Experience creating engaging and interactive lesson plans that align with the learners' goals, incorporating a variety of teaching materials, resources, and activities
• Previous work with diverse student populations

• Full responsibility of delivering innovative training solutions, based on local priorities and contractual requirements
• Feedback on training materials, identifying new and creative ways to engage learners.

• Continuously engage in professional development activities to stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in Functional Skills delivery
• Apply new knowledge and techniques to improve teaching effectiveness
